Ohio Federal Judge Grants Centocor Summary Judgment in Remicade Lung Disease Case

CLEVELAND — An Ohio federal judge has granted Centocor summary judgment in a Remicade case, finding the plaintiff failed to present sufficient expert testimony linking his non-infectious interstitial lung disease to the drug.
In a March 11 order, Senior Judge James G. Carr of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio ruled that the case reports relied upon by the plaintiff’s three expert witnesses did not provide a reliable basis for their opinions that Remicade can cause interstitial pneumonitis.
