BATON ROUGE, La. - A Louisiana woman who claims to have suffered 'serious and permanent damage to her health' as a result of using the drug Imitrex to treat her migraine headaches has sued the drug's manufacturer. Kemp v. SmithKline Beecham Corp., No. 02-996 (M.D. La.).
According to a complaint removed recently to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana, Karen Kemp alleges that Imitrex manufacturer SmithKline Beecham failed to adequately warn consumers about the risk of adverse events associated with use of Imitrex, such as heart attack, stroke, coronary artery vasospasm and death.
