JPML Transfers Neomedic Pelvic Mesh Actions to Southern District of W. Va.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has transferred all federal actions involving pelvic mesh products made by Neomedic Inc to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia for coordinated and/or consolidated pretrial proceedings.
In a Feb. 18 order, the panel explained that the cases involve common questions of fact, and that centralization “will serve the convenience of the parties and witnesses and promote the just and efficient conduct of the litigation.” Judge Joseph R. Goodwin will oversee the pretrial proceedings.
