N.C. Federal Judge Finds Expert Opinions in Contaminated Baby Formula Case ‘Scientifically Valid’

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — A North Carolina federal judge has denied Abbott Laboratories’ motion to exclude certain expert opinions in a contaminated infant formula case, finding the plaintiff’s experts are qualified to opine on the issues of the relevant standards of care, alleged defect and causation.
On Feb. 10, Judge Martin Reidinger of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina held that the experts’ reasoning and methodology are scientifically valid.
