PHILADELPHIA — A Pennsylvania federal judge has transferred a Paxil birth defect case to the Southern District of Texas, noting that many of the events that give rise to this litigation occurred in that district, and the private and public interest factors weigh in favor of transfer.
On Jan. 17, Judge Eduardo C. Robreno of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania noted that, according to the complaint, the plaintiff was prescribed Paxil in Texas, consumed the drug in Texas, and was pregnant and gave birth in Texas.
