HARTFORD, Conn. — A Connecticut federal judge has denied Wyeth’s motion for judgment as a matter of law in the wake of a Prempro trial that resulted in an award of more than $5.5 million to plaintiffs, finding there was a sufficient evidentiary basis for the jury to find the drug caused the plaintiff’s breast cancer.
On Jan. 14, Judge Janet Bond Arterton of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut also denied the drug maker’s motion for a new trial.
