Court Affirms Magistrate's Ruling Barring New Stryker Coverage Claims Against XL Insurance

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A federal court has overruled Stryker Corp.'s objections to a ruling by a magistrate judge preventing Stryker from asserting new coverage claims against XL Insurance America, saying there was no abuse of discretion.
Judge Robert Holmes Bell of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan also said in his Dec. 20 order that he agreed with the magistrate judge's finding that allowing Stryker to pursue new claims in a supplemental complaint would not be in the interests of justice.
