SHREVEPORT, La.-A 23-year-old Louisiana man, who claims he suffered a stroke as a result of his ingestion of a dietary supplement containing ephedra, has filed a lawsuit against the supplement's manufacturer claiming that it failed to adequately warn consumers and that the product was defective. Allgrunn v. Twinlab Corp., No. CV-02-2057 (W.D. La.).
Plaintiff Jeremy James Allgrun states that he was in good health prior to suffering the stroke in July 2001 and claims that the manufacturer is liable for damages under the Louisiana Products Liability Act (LPLA), the Sept. 26 complaint says.
