New Suit Accuses USPLabs, GNC, of Hiding Risks Associated with Jac3d, OxyElite Pro Weight-Loss Supplements

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — In a class action suit, four consumers have accused USPLabs LLC and GNC Corp. of downplaying the heath risks associated with weight-loss supplements Jac3d and OxyElite Pro, both of which contain 1,3-dimethylamylamine.
According to the Nov. 13 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida, defendants market the supplements as safe, when in fact DMAA can cause adverse cardiovascular events such as heart attack, stroke, heart arrhythmias, heart palpitations, dizziness, loss of consciousness and death.
The suit was filed by Richard Carlson, Breanne Kitner, Mitchell Payne and Nicole B. Payne.
