N.Y. Man Says Pfizer’s Cleocin Caused Him to Develop Stevens-Johnson Syndrome

NEW YORK — A new suit says Pfizer’s antibiotic Cleocin can cause Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis in certain patients and that the drug maker has concealed these risks from patients and the medical community.
The Oct. 24 complaint filed in the New York County Supreme Court says Pfizer has known of these risks for more than 30 years, yet failed to disclose them on Cleocin’s package inserts and other informational materials.
