Calif. Man Sues LaRoche, Alleging Contaminated Toradol Caused Flesh Eating Disease

SAN FRANCISCO — A California man has sued Hoffman-LaRoche Inc., alleging that he was administered a contaminated dose of anti-inflammatory drug Toradol, which caused him to go into septic shock and develop flesh-eating disease.

The suit says the Toradol, which was given to the plaintiff to treat his lower back pain, was contaminated and unsterilized. The drug is commonly used to treat pain and inflammation caused by arthritis, menstrual cramps, and other medical problems.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 26, 2012, Norman Davis presented to Barton Memorial Hospital’s emergency room with low back pain. His condition deteriorated rapidly and …
