NEW YORK — A plaintiff alleging that manufacturing and design defects in Stryker’s Wichita Fusion Nail knee system led to multiple surgeries and failures has added to her claim that that she and her treating physician were misled about the device’s stability and safety.

Elaine Williamson filed a second amended complaint Sept. 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, following the court’s July 23 order denying Stryker’s motion to dismiss and granting the plaintiff additional time to particularize fraud and misrepresentation claims.
