RENO, Nev. — A Nevada pelvic mesh case brought against Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: J&J) and Ethicon Inc. has been stayed pending the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation’s ruling on defendants’ motion to transfer the action to the federal multidistrict litigation.
In a Sept. 11 order, Magistrate Judge Nancy J. Koppe of the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada explained there is a likelihood that the case will be transferred to the MDL and a stay will prevent duplicative discovery, inconsistent rulings and conserve resources.
