Calif. NuvaRing Case Stayed Pending JPML’s Decision on Motion to Transfer

SAN FRANCISCO — In order to avoid the risk of unnecessary proceedings and inconsistent rulings, a California federal judge has stayed a NuvaRing case pending the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation’s decision to transfer the action to the federal multidistrict litigation.

On Sept. 13, Judge Jon S. Tigar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California explained a stay “promotes judicial economy.”
