Wis. Federal Judge Allows Plaintiff’s Causation Experts to Testify in Pain Pump Case

MADISON, Wis. — A Wisconsin federal judge has denied Stryker Corp.’s (NYSE: SYK) motion to exclude the plaintiff’s causation experts in a pain pump injury case, ruling that although the experts do not address the type of pump at issue in this case, such particularity is not required.
On Sept. 4, Judge Barbara B. Crabb of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin noted the experts’ use of a differential etiology isolated Stryker’s particular pain pump by eliminating other potential causes of the plaintiff’s injury.
