SAN FRANCISCO — A California federal judge has granted GlaxoSmithKline’s (NSE: GLAXO) motion to stay an Avandia injury case pending the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation’s decision to transfer the action to the Avandia MDL in Pennsylvania.
On Aug. 29, Judge Maxine M. Chesney of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California ruled that in this early stage of the litigation, neither party will be prejudiced by a brief stay.
