Tenn. Judge Refuses to Exclude Causation Testimony of 2 Experts in Aredia ONJ Case

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The plaintiff in an Aredia injury case may present testimony from an oral surgeon and an oral pathologist, a Tennessee federal magistrate judge has ruled, finding each expert is well qualified and used a differential diagnosis to conclude that the plaintiff suffered from Aredia-induced osteonecrosis.

On Sept. 4, Magistrate Judge C. Clifford Shirley Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee denied Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp.’s motion to exclude the causation testimony of Eric Carlson, D.M.D. and J. Michael McCoy, D.D.S.
