SAN FRANCISCO — Counsel for 62 plaintiffs in California’s coordinated DePuy ASR hip cases have asked the presiding judge to “retransfer” the cases to Los Angeles Superior Court for reasons of convenience and to ensure faster trial dates.

The Los Angeles-based Girardi Keese firm filed the request Aug. 21 in San Francisco Superior Court, where the California ASR hip cases are currently assigned to Judge Richard Kramer. A hearing on the motion is scheduled for Sept. 17.
