ST. LOUIS — A Missouri federal judge has ordered the plaintiff in a Plavix injury case to amend his complaint to allege facts establishing the citizenship of each member of Sanofi-Aventis U.S. L.L.C., or face dismissal for lack of subject matter jurisdiction.
In an Aug. 29 order, Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri explained that unincorporated entities such as LLCs are citizens of every state of which any member is a citizen.
