SAN FRANCISCO — A California federal judge has granted GlaxoSmithKline’s (NSE: GLAXO) motion to stay an Avandia injury case pending the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation’s decision to transfer the action to the Avandia multidistrict litigation.
On Aug. 12, Judge Maxine M. Chesney of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California reasoned that the stay will only last a short time and that neither party will be prejudiced as a result.
