Complete Diversity and Damages in Excess of Jurisdictional Limit Prompt Removal of Prempro Case

CHICAGO-The makers of Prempro have removed a case involving an Illinois woman who claims that she developed lumps in her breast as a result of ingesting Prempro. Gill v. Wyeth Inc., No. 02-C-6080 (N.D. Ill.).
In its Aug. 27 removal notice, Prempro manufacturer Wyeth, Inc. claims that the removal is proper since there is complete diversity of citizenship between the two parties and that the plaintiffs seek damages in excess of $75,000.
