DePuy Moves for Summary Judgment in Calif. Bellwether DePuy ASR Hip Case

SAN FRANCISCO — DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. (NYSE: JNJ) and affiliated defendants have moved for summary adjudication in an ASR hip implant case scheduled to be California’s first bellwether trial Oct. 1.

Defendants filed their Notice of Motion and Motion for Summary Adjudication in San Francisco Superior Court July 26, the deadline given by Judge Richard A. Kramer, who presides over the coordinated DePuy ASR hip cases.

Plaintiff Robert Eugene Ottman’s opposition is due Aug. 30. The judge has already scheduled a hearing on dispositive motions for Sept. 13.
