Judge Limits Discovery in Rituxan Case, Orders Genentech to Produce Representatives

OMAHA, Neb. - A Nebraska federal judge has ordered Genentech Inc. to comply with a plaintiff’s discovery request for the production of representatives to provide information concerning the use of Rituxan to treat thrombotic thrombocytopenia purpura.

On July 22, Judge Cheryl R. Zwart of the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska limited the requested discovery, finding information concerning Genentech’s marketing practices, general use of medical science advisors, or general compensation of physicians regarding Rituxan is not relevant to this action.
