Dispositive Motions Due July 26 in Calif. DePuy ASR Hip Case Scheduled for Oct. 1 Trial

SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Superior Court has set a July 26 deadline for summary judgment or summary adjudication motions in what is to be the first DePuy ASR XL hip implant case to be tried in the coordinated California proceedings.

Superior Court Judge Richard A. Kramer signed the one-paragraph order July 8 in the case brought by Robert Eugene Ottman, which has been chosen by the parties for the initial bellwether trial.

Judge Kramer also ordered that oppositions to such motions be submitted by Aug. 30 and replies be filed by Sept. 6. The hearing for any motions …
