CHICAGO — U.S. District Judge Rebecca R. Pallmeyer has denied motions by plaintiffs’ counsel to withdraw from nearly four dozen individual cases, saying the reasons given were insufficient and any remaining pro se plaintiffs would have no meaningful way to participate in the proceedings.
In the same June 25 order, Judge Pallmeyer, who oversees the Zimmer (NYSE: ZMH) NexGen Knee Implant MDL in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, denied motions to voluntarily dismiss several of the same cases with prejudice, saying that “for obvious reasons,” the court could not take such action where the lawyer …
