DePuy Pinnacle MDL Court Allows Expedited Depositions of Plaintiffs’ Friction Expert

DALLAS — U.S. District Judge Ed Kinkeade has issued an order in the DePuy (NYSE: JNJ) Pinnacle Hip Implant MDL allowing plaintiffs to proceed with an expedited deposition of a friction expert said to be seriously ill, but barred plaintiffs and defendants from sharing the videotapes or transcripts outside of the MDL.

Judge Kinkeade’s June 24 order denied DePuy Orthopaedics’ motion to quash plaintiffs’ notice of deposition of W. Gregory Sawyer, Ph.D., outright, although he did grant their request to limit distribution.
