Zimmer Sees NexGen Dismissal Motions As Evidence of Widespread ‘Meritless’ Claims

CHICAGO — Responding to recent requests for voluntary dismissal by plaintiffs in the NexGen Knee MDL, Zimmer Inc. contends that the motions are evidence that many cases filed to date are meritless and should be dismissed with prejudice.
Zimmer’s response came June 6 in response to dismissal motions filed in three cases pending in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, but the defendant said it intends to file the same opposition to other such motions by plaintiffs seeking to discontinue individual actions.
