Discovery Schedule Pushes New Jersey DePuy ASR Case Towards October Trial Date

HACKENSACK, N.J. — An amended schedule in what is to be New Jersey’s first trial of a DePuy (NYSE: JNJ) ASR hip implant case has discovery ending by Sept. 13, a little more than a month before the trial date.

Bergen County Superior Court Judge Brian R. Martinotti, who presides over the state’s coordinated DePuy ASR docket, signed Case Management Order No. 20 on May 24, setting deadlines for expert reports and discovery but moving the first bellwether trial — MacDonald v. DePuy (BER-L-1856-12) — from Oct. 15 to Oct. 21.
