TOLEDO, Ohio — Plaintiffs in the first scheduled DePuy (NYSE: JNJ) ASR hip MDL trial have submitted their sealed opposition to defendants’ motion to effectively apply the laws of defendants’ home states to any punitive damages award.

Judge David A. Katz, who presides over the ASR Hip implant multi-district proceedings in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, granted a motion May 17 to allow plaintiffs’ to file their brief under seal, citing exhibits that are under protective order. Plaintiffs submitted their brief May 30.
