DePuy Moves to Stay $8.26 Million Judgment in ASR Hip Case

LOS ANGELES — DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. has moved to stay an $8.26 million final judgment in an ASR hip implant case while it seeks to overturn the March jury verdict.
DePuy submitted a stipulation and order April 12 to the Los Angeles Superior Court, which entered judgment last month following a six-week jury trial. The stipulation would allow appeal without bond.
Superior Court Judge J. Stephen Czuleger left intact the jury’s award of $8 million in non-economic damages to plaintiff Loren Kransky, but he reduced the jury’s award of $338,136.12 for medical expenses by $77,345.27 to account for amounts payable …
