Ill. State Judge Sends Humira Histoplasmosis Case to Trial

CHICAGO — An Illinois state judge has sent a Humira injury case to trial, ruling that issues of fact exist as to whether Abbott Laboratories adequately warned doctors that the TNF-blocker could cause unrecognized histoplasmosis.
On April 12, Judge William J. Haddad of the Cook County (Ill.) Circuit Court also ruled that there are questions of fact as to causation and the learned intermediary doctrine. The judge scheduled the trial for April 23.
