JPML Adds Biomet M2a-Taper Cases to M2a-Magnum Hip MDL in Indiana

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has ordered that cases alleging defects in Biomet’s M2a-Taper hip devices be added to the M2A-Magnum MDL pending in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana.

The panel entered similar transfer orders in three cases April 1 in which Biomet has opposed conditional transfer orders or transfers sought by plaintiffs.

In October, the panel assigned all Biomet M2a-Magnum and M2a-38 hip replacement cases to Judge Robert L. Miller Jr. in the Northern District of Indiana.
