Celexa/Lexapro Suicide MDL Judge Allows Testimony of 2 Plaintiffs’ Experts

ST. LOUIS — The judge overseeing the Celexa/Lexapro suicide multidistrict litigation has denied Forest Laboratories’ (NYSE: FRX) motion to exclude the testimony of two plaintiffs’ experts, finding them qualified to opine that the antidepressants can cause suicidal tendencies and that the drug maker could have done more to warn patients of this risk.
On March 4, Judge Rodney W. Sippel of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri further found the testimony of Dr. David Healy and Dr. Michael Hamrell “is properly grounded and well-reasoned.”
