Florida Plaintiff Alleges Defects in Stryker EIUS Knee Device

MIAMI — A Florida woman alleges in a newly filed lawsuit that Stryker Corp. (NYSE: SYK) knew that its EIUS Unicompartmental knee devices were defective and prone to loosening, but continued to market them for knee replacement surgeries.

Sandra Witt filed her action in the 11th Judicial Circuit Court in Miami-Dade County, Fla.., on Jan. 28, but Stryker Corp. removed it to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida March 1, citing complete diversity of the parties.
