MDL Court Instructs DePuy Pinnacle Counsel on Acceptable Form for Objections in Depositions

DALLAS — U.S. District Judge James “Ed” Kinkeade has entered an order in the DePuy (NYSE: JNJ) Pinnacle hip implant proceedings to clarify the form of objections to be used in depositions that may be shared in state and federal cases.
Judge Kinkeade said in his March 4 order that the court recognizes that such depositions are already underway and are being cross-noticed in various state courts, but said the court wanted “to communicate its expectations to counsel and resolve differences in the applicable rules and codes in various jurisdictions where the depositions may subsequently be used.”
