Tenn. Judge Grants Plaintiffs’ Motions to Amend, Remand in Tegretol Injury Case

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A Tennessee federal judge has allowed the plaintiffs in a Tegretol case brought against Novartis Pharmaceutical Corp. (NYSE: NVS) and the maker of the drug’s generic equivalent to amend their complaint to add nondiverse healthcare defendants.
On Feb. 7, Judge Leon Jordan of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee also remanded the case to state court on the basis that diversity citizenship no longer existed.
