SAN FRANCISCO — DePuy Inc. (NYSE: JNJ) has filed its opposition to an Oregon plaintiff’s bid for a preferential trial date in the coordinated California ASR hip implant proceedings, saying the necessity of an early trial isn’t clear and the resources being spent in an ongoing trial in another preference case should weigh against granting the motion.
Noting that there are 2,200 plaintiffs now awaiting trial in California’s coordinated ASR hip implant proceedings, DePuy said in its Feb. 5 response to Michael Cham’s request to the San Francisco Superior Court that having another preferential trial now will take substantial resources …
