N.J. Court Declines Bayer’s Request to Combine Mirena IUD Lawsuits

MORRISTOWN, N.J. — The New Jersey Supreme Court has denied a request by Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals Inc. to create a coordinated docket for lawsuits alleging injury caused by the company’s intrauterine contraceptive device Mirena.
In a notice released Jan. 8, the court’s acting administrative director said that the high court reached has decided not to designate the cases as “Multicounty litigation” after considering comments in the wake of Bayer’s Aug. 9 request.
