SAN DIEGO — Two lawsuits filed recently in California blame six different manufacturers of drugs used to treat Type 2 diabetes for failing to warn doctors and their patients of a link between their products and pancreatic cancer.
The wrongful death complaints were filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California by the surviving spouses of patients in California and Texas who took Januvia and Byetta prior to being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Manufacturers of the diabetes drugs Bydureon, Victoza, Tradjenta and Janumet were also named as defendants in one of the suits.
