4 Calif. Cases Transferred to DePuy Pinnacle MDL After Out-of-State Plaintiffs Fail to Contest Removal

LOS ANGELES — Out-of-state plaintiffs in four California hip implant cases have stipulated to stays and dropped any opposition to DePuy Inc.’s (NYSE: JNJ) fraudulent joinder assertions that were the basis for removing the actions from state to federal court.

All four cases were on the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation’s Nov. 14 conditional transfer list of cases reassigned to the DePuy Pinnacle MDL pending in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas (In re: DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc., Pinnacle Hip Implant Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2244 (N.D. Texas).
