Florida Woman Sues Zimmer Over Failure of Trilogy Hip Liner

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 70-year-old Florida woman who received a Trilogy hip implant in 2004 has filed a lawsuit against manufacturer Zimmer Inc. (NYSE: ZMH), alleging that the implant’s plastic liner broke because of a poor design, leading to revision surgery and multiple femur fractures.

Marcia Schenone filed the lawsuit Sept. 20 against Zimmer Inc. and Zimmer Holdings Inc. in September in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
