California Judge Adds 1st Group of DePuy Pinnacle Cases to Coordinated Docket

SAN FRANCISCO —San Francisco Superior Court Judge Richard A. Kramer has added the first group of DePuy (NYSE: JNJ) Pinnacle hip implant cases to a coordinated proceeding in his court.
Judge Kramer, who recommended a coordinated docket in September and was then asked to formally decide whether the Pinnacle hip cases are “complex” and appropriate for centralization, was appointed to oversee the coordinated proceeding on Oct. 9.
The judge issued an order Oct. 15, granting DePuy Orthopaedics Inc.’s First Petition for Coordination of Add-On Cases, identifying the first 14 cases to be coordinated and noting that there was no …
