MINEOLA, N.Y. — A New York judge has awarded summary judgment to medical providers and a rehabilitation hospital accused of failing to provide sufficient care to prevent a deep-seated infection at the site of a hip implant.
Weighing expert testimony offered by plaintiff Carol Brosen and on behalf of three defendants, Nassau County (N.Y.) Supreme Court Justice Karen V. Murphy held in a recently filed order that Brosen failed to identify a causal connection between defendants’ alleged negligence and her hip infection.
None of the plaintiffs’ allegations were directed at her surgeon, the surgical hospital or implant manufacturers.
