Howmedica Moves to Dismiss Florida Stryker Rejuvenate Case on Several Grounds

MIAMI — Howmedica Osteonics Corp. (NYSE: SYK) has asked a federal court to dismiss in its entirety a complaint by a Florida woman who alleges that the failure of her Rejuvenate hip system was due to manufacturing and design defects.
Howmedica filed the motion Oct. 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Connie Piccinonna filed her lawsuit in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court in Broward County Sept. 4, alleging that a Rejuvenate system was implanted in her left hip on Sept. 26, 2011, and in her right hip on Jan. 4, 2012.
