BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – An Alabama federal judge has excluded the causation testimony of a maxillofacial surgeon in a Zometa injury case, ruling that he is not qualified to testify as to the cause of the plaintiff’s osteonecrosis of the jaw.
On Oct. 4, Judge Virginia Emerson Hopkins of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama found the plaintiff failed to establish that maxillofacial surgeons are qualified to opine as to the cause of ONJ.
