Calif. Justice Asks Judge to Rule on Coordination of DePuy Pinnacle Hip Implant Cases




SAN FRANCISCO — The Judicial Council of California has ordered a San Francisco judge to decide whether it is appropriate to establish a coordinated docket for all claims filed throughout the state alleging injury caused by the DePuy Pinnacle Hip System.

On Oct. 4, California Supreme Court Chief Justice Tani Gorre Cantil-Sakauye, who is also Chair of the Judicial Council, assigned Judge Richard A. Kramer to issue a decision on whether the Pinnacle cases are “complex” and should be centralized in the proposed JCCP 4662.
