Howmedica Sends Florida Stryker Rejuvenate Hip Implant Lawsuit to Federal Court

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Howmedica Osteonics Corp. (NYSE: SYK) has alleged in a federal court filing that a local distributor named in a Florida woman’s state court Stryker Rejuvenate suit was fraudulently joined to the case.

In an Oct. 2 petition removing the case to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Howmedica contends that the distributor, Orthopedic Solutions Inc., played no role in causing the injuries plaintiff Jaimie M. Simon says she suffered after her Stryker Rejuvenate hip device failed.
