JPML Vacates Transfer Order for Suit Alleging Defects in Zimmer ‘Natural-Knee’ System

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has vacated a conditional transfer order in a suit alleging defects in a “Zimmer Natural-Knee” implant, saying it is outside the scope of the Zimmer (NYSE: ZMH) NexGen knee implant MDL pending in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

In its Oct. 1 order granting Zimmer’s motion to vacate transfer of a case pending in the Southern Disrict of New York, the panel quoted from its December 2011 decision to vacate conditional transfer of two other Natural Knee cases:
