CHICAGO — Zimmer Holdings (NYSE: ZMH) and other defendants in the NexGen knee implant MDL have submitted further briefing in support of their motion to limit the proceedings to alleged defects in “high flex” femoral components, and the issue is awaiting resolution by the court.

Zimmer, which moved Aug. 10 to dismiss William Colbert’s suit for damages for alleged failure of a “standard” non-Flex NexGen knee implant, submitted its reply brief under seal to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois Sept. 19. Colbert filed a sealed response in opposition to remand Sept. 7.
