Calif. DePuy ASR Court Orders Plaintiff to Arbitrate Claims Against Kaiser Hospital

SAN FRANCISCO — California Superior Court Judge Richard A. Kramer has ruled that an arbitration agreement in a senior healthcare plan is binding on a DePuy (NYSE: JNJ) ASR hip implant plaintiff, and mandates a stay of his claims against Kaiser Foundation Hospitals.
Judge Kramer specified that only the claims brought by Stuart Glenn against Kaiser are covered by the stay, allowing him to proceed against defendants DePuy Orthpaedics Inc. and Johnson & Johnson Services Inc. in the court’s coordinated proceedings.
